From the Place Louis de la Bardonnie, a gentle scent of coffee or tea (your choice) wafts through the air… La Brûlerie du Périgord (which has just celebrated its 90th anniversary) has its eye on you, with a subtle selection to discover on site.

Strolling along the banks of the Dordogne River 

Stimulated by a good cup of coffee (why not accompanied by a delicious Croquant from the François patisserie), you’re all set to take advantage of the many accessible hiking trails around Bergerac, ideal for discovering the surrounding countryside. For an easy, invigorating walk, from the Port, at the foot of Quai Cyrano, head towards the dam via the Promenade Pierre Loti. A short stroll along the banks of the Esperance river, where barnacle geese, grey herons, kingfishers, red kites and swans are regular visitors. On foot, by bike or with your pet (less than 5km round trip).

Head for the farm 

The Dordogne is famous for its cheeses (Trappe d’Echourgnac, Cabecou…). In Ribagnac, a passionate family welcomes you for an educational and gourmet experience in a bucolic setting. Discover the history of the Chèvrerie du Charmat, just a stone’s throw from the Châteaux de Bridoire and Monbazillac, during a guided tour (by appointment). More caviar than cheese? In the heart of a peaceful landscape of river, stones and trees, the Domaine de Neuvic opens its doors to explain the history and life of sturgeons, before concluding with a tasting session. Go behind the scenes of their farm and discover the secrets of caviar production.
